Furthering a Mission

When Arrow client The 19th News officially launched their website in 2020, they offered the agency some digital display ad space as a thank-you. Self-promotion is not Arrow’s style though, so I designed a way to use the space to further The 19th’s mission—and that of the suffragists who started it all.

Microsite Design

Show Up. Demand More.

In creating the concept for the ads and microsite, I took inspiration from the look of flyers and zines from grassroots organization efforts. I juxtaposed historical photos alongside memes and anachronisms to highlight the DIY spirit behind the design.

Digital Display Ads

The ads were placed in The 19th’s newsletter and on its website, and they clicked through to a microsite that encouraged women to vote by breaking down the process step-by step.

The Microsite

The site takes prospective voters through the voting process—from voter registration to the ballot box—with helpful links, fun imagery, and cheeky copy along the way.

Design by yours truly, microsite development by Bart Kibbe.
